Year 6 Scientists at Work

28 August 2025

This term marked an exciting milestone for our Year 6 students as they stepped into the science lab for the very first time – and what an exciting start it has been!

Year 6 Scientists at Work

Under the guidance of their teachers, students learned how to use microscopes and explored the hidden details of living things, marvelling at:

  • the delicate patterns of an insect’s wing,
  • the muscles in a frog’s heart, and
  • the intricate structures found in blood.

The excitement grew when they investigated microorganisms from the nearby creek water. Peering through the microscopes, they discovered an entire hidden world of life moving about in a single drop of water!
