Secondary Book Week 2025 Celebrations

27 August 2025

Last week, our Secondary School celebrated Book Week 2025 under the CBCA’s inspiring theme, “Book an Adventure.” The week highlighted the joy of reading, storytelling, and creative expression, encouraging students and staff to embark on journeys through books, discover new voices, and appreciate the power of stories.

Secondary Book Week 2025 Celebrations

The celebrations began on Monday, 18 August, with a special visit from Sheikh Belal Assaad, author of Home Sweet Home. Addressing our Year 9 – 12 students, he spoke about the importance of stories, wisdom, and knowledge in personal growth. Opening Day also featured the first Book Kahoot Quiz for Year 7 and the launch of the daily Book Quiz across homegroup classes.

Lunchtimes throughout the week were filled with Kahoot competitions, Reading and Writing contests, and Reading Circles. Colourful posters, banners, and decorations transformed our learning spaces into vibrant celebrations of literature.

A standout highlight was our Human Library Day on Wednesday, 20 August, where teachers became “living books,” sharing their personal stories and life lessons. We thank Ms Rahat, Mr Fazeel, Mr Vis, Mr Suffian, Mr Kullu, Ms Ayesha, Mr Nader, Mr Ammar, Mr Bayram, Mr Sheikh Luqmahn, Mr Has Gunawan, Mr Zulhilmi, and Mr Muhlis for making these sessions so impactful.

The week concluded on Friday, 22 August, with a Staff and Student Celebration Day. Teachers dressed as beloved book characters and joined in activities such as the 6-Word Story Challenge, Book Charades, Pass the Story, and the Teacher Kahoot Quiz. The day ended with reflections on the week’s success and contributions to the “Shelfie & Stories” wall, showcasing favourite books. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making Secondary Book Week such a memorable experience.
