The program included special guest speaker Rana Hussain, who was recently appointed to the Collingwood FC Anti-Racism Advisory Committee. Our second speaker was Lisa Thorpe, who is the CEO of Bubup Wilam Indigenous Child & Family Centre in the City of Whittlesea.
Both speakers were incredibly inspiring, sharing their journeys, wisdom and knowledge in taking a grassroots approach to anti-racism advocacy. Links to their presentations will be available on the ASC YouTube Channel in the coming days.
The keynote presentations were followed by a public speaking workshop hosted by TedX speaker trainer, and public speaking expert, Jo Evans. Jo will be returning to 糖心vlog破解版 in Term 2 to continue the student learning experience with two additional workshops in public speaking.
The purpose of this program was to firstly give students an understanding of what racism and anti-racism looks like. The public speaking workshop series then assists students in developing a life skill that gives students the confidence and ability to speak up and speak out.
